Case Details

On March 20, 2008 the claimant, a 55 year old repairman, sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 30-40% of his body when the dishwasher on which he was working was accidentallyturned on. The claimant, who lives in Stafford, Virginia, was taken to Washington Hospital Center Burn Unit and treated with Dr. James Williams, a plastic surgeon, Dr. Kenneth Ward, an orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Erroll Segall, a psychiatrist. He was released to return to work on light duty on February 25, 2009 and was given a 17% permanent impairment rating to his left upper extremity.

Results

McMullen v. Ecolab and Chartis Insurance Co. , – settled for $301,074 of which $66,424 was placed in a Medicare Set Aside Account for his future medical needs.
