Morgan v. Whole Foods Market, Inc.

This case involved multiple injuries to the same body parts over the course of two years. The client injured her low back in 2012 while she was pushing and aligning grocery store carts and bringing them inside the store from the parking lot. In April 2013, she injured her right shoulder when she tripped over a stack of baskets and fell to the ground. In October of that same year, she injured her left shoulder when she was picking up a grocery bag weighing approximately 15lbs and felt a sharp pop in her shoulder.

This client was already under a medical only award for her 2012 low back injury. When she injured her shoulders, she approached HammondTownsend for help with her claim. The firm was able to settle all three of her claims for $112,500.00 and secure payment of all medical treatment from the past to the time the settlement was approved by the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission.
