George Townsend has been named President Elect of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG) 2021-2022 Executive Office. WILG is a national non-profit membership organization for workers’ compensation attorneys.
WILG is dedicated to representing the people who suffer from workplace injuries and their families. The group’s mission is to improve the quality of the legal representation available to injured workers. WILG has over a thousand members representing every state.
WILG includes resources for workers’ compensation attorneys to help them improve their practice and get better results for their clients. With several types of legal resources and information specifically geared towards workers’ compensation available through WILG, members have resources at their fingertips to help their clients. When an attorney has what he needs right in front of him, he can take quicker and more decisive action to work for his client.
WILG advocates for the rights of workers in state and federal legislatures, fighting against reducing or eliminating benefits for injured workers. The organization provides information to the media, both on-the-record quotes and background information, to ensure that news stories accurately share information about workers’ compensation with the public.
Members of WILG also have each other as resources. Attorneys from different firms can talk to each other and share the most effective arguments and new developments in workers’ compensation. The attorneys can share their experiences so all their clients get better service.
