Continuing a Worker’s Comp Claim: Calling HammondTownsend

After you’ve talked with the doctor that your employer has provided and told them exactly what happened, you’ll call HammondTownsend. You don’t need to wait until after your medical treatment has been completed, or until you’ve seen a specialist – go ahead and call after your first medical appointment.

Contacting HammondTownsend has two steps: an initial intake call and then a free consultation.

Intake Call

First, you’ll call 888-580-9048 and speak to an intake specialist. If you call outside of business hours you can leave a voicemail and you’ll receive a call back.

The first phone call with the intake specialist usually lasts 15-20 minutes. The intake specialist is trying to get as much relevant information as possible so the attorney reviewing your case can make informed decisions and give you the most accurate information for your situation. You’ll give your name, address, and phone number so you can be contacted again. You’ll also give your birth date, explanation of how the injury happened and what body part is injured (just like you told your boss and the doctor), your employer name, the worker’s compensation insurance company name, and where you have received medical treatment. If you have any specific questions or concerns that you have about your claim, let the intake specialist know so they can be passed on to the attorney.

Consult

After the intake specialist has all of your information, the information is passed to an attorney who reviews your case. The intake specialist will schedule a phone call or office visit between you and the attorney, and during that call or meeting the attorney will provide you with a free advice consult. When possible, the call or meeting takes place within 24 hours of the first phone call to HammondTownsend.

Next Steps

If the attorney decides to take your case, you’ll be sent a sign-up packet to fill out paperwork.
