Bryn Swartz (Lawyer)
Bryn Swartz has years of experience representing injured workers. He has handled hundreds of workers’ compensation cases on behalf of those hurt at work. Yet in addition, Bryn brings a unique perspective to his work as a claimants’ attorney because he previously represented insurance companies in workers’ compensation cases. While doing so, he saw firsthand the tricks insurance companies use to deny people benefits. He learned how to maximize clients’ chances of success, and developed a keen eye toward working to avoid the pitfalls that can jeopardize even the simplest workers’ compensation cases. After spending several years representing insurance carriers, Bryn realized his true calling was in helping people, not denying them. He was thus thrilled to join HammondTownsend in 2016.
A born-and-raised Richmonder, Bryn earned his bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon College and his juris doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law. He graduated law school magna cum laude, in the top of his class, and was a member of the McNeill Law Honor Society. After law school, he clerked for the Henrico Circuit Court before becoming a prosecutor with the Computer Crime Section of the Virginia Office of the Attorney General. There, he secured dozens of guilty pleas and verdicts in internet child abuse and exploitation cases.
Outside the office, Bryn has a wide variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoys mountain biking, playing with his dogs, coffee, real estate investing, traveling, cooking, and indulging his weakness for going to great restaurants.
